Bob Nolan

Cape May County Sheriff

Born in Delaware County, PA in 1958, Bob was the oldest of six siblings. He moved to North Wildwood in September 1978 and began working at Everlon Fabrics in Erma, Lower Township. In 1984 Everlon Fabrics closed the textile plant and moved out of state, so Bob applied to the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office for a position as a corrections officer and began his employment with the Sheriff that year.

Bob gradated from the Cape May County Police Academy in 1987. He made his way to Chief and in 2010 became the Undersheriff, which oversees the law enforcement division, as well as manages and participates in all civil functions of the Sheriff’s Office. During this time, Bob was also pursuing degrees from Atlantic Cape Community College (Criminal Justice), Richard Stocken College (Social and Behavioral Sciences), Farleigh Dickinson University (Certified Public Manager), and the West Point Command and Leadership Program (Certificate of Fradduation, Leadership Theories and Quality of Command).

Dedicating a lot of his time to the community, Bob has held public office positions on the Lower Township Board of Fire Commisions, where he served as the Vice President and is currently the President. He also served on Lower Township City Council as the Deputy Mayor, while representing the Council on the Planning and Environmental Boards.

Today Bob is still employed by the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office and continues to assist local law enforcement agencies and serve the citizens of Cape May County. He is currently a member for the Town Bank Volunteer Fire Company, Union League of Cape May County, and the International Association of Chief’s of Police. He now resides in North Cape May with his wife Michelle, and together they have three children and five grandchildren.

The GOP, “Grand Old Party,” first took roots in 1854 with a small group of dedicated abolitionists gathered to fight against the expansion of slavery and in hopes of starting a Party dedicated to freedom and equal opportunity.
